LIVE coverage from Bangkok after torrential rain triggered severe flooding across Thailand’s capital.
Authorities have designated all 50 districts of Bangkok as flood-disaster areas after nearly 300 mm of rain fell in roughly 48 hours. Major roads were inundated, vehicles were partly submerged and floodwater entered homes and businesses.
Thousands of residents have been moved to temporary shelters as emergency teams work to pump water from canals and flooded neighbourhoods. Floodwaters have begun receding in some areas after the rain eased, but parts of the city remain severely affected.
